'Anatomy for Life' is an Art Exhibition and Auction, organised by the Brighton Organ Donation Committee, Brighton Hospitals Art initiative and staff supporting organ donation. We wish to raise awareness of Organ Donation and money for the charity ‘Live Life then Give Life’ http://www.lltgl.org.uk/ As you can appreciate art is a great way to get people talking.
The Art Exhibition will be held at the Jubilee Library and Art Gallery in Brighton during National Transplant Week 7-13th September. Entry is free.
The art has been sourced by asking artists, medical illustrators, staff, students, patients and supporters to submit postcard sized artwork: theme ‘anatomy’.
The artwork will then be sold on eBay, with all money going to the 'Live Life then Give Life' charity. We have asked artists only to sign their artwork on the back, thereby remaining anonymous until the auction ends.
**We are also organising Bodypainting events on Monday 7th and Saturday 12th September 12-4pm**. We want to show people where their organs are! If anyone would like to volunteer to paint or be painted then get in touch, or introduce yourself to us on the day; the more the merrier!
More information regarding our event can be found via the website www.anatomyforlife.com, our facebook page or follow us on twitter: @anatomyforlife.
