Luminary: Ron Haselden - an exhibition at Fabrica

  • Fabrica 40 Duke Street Brighton, BN1 1AG United Kingdom

Luminary, co-commissioned with Brighton Festival, is a beautiful series of LED light-drawings ranging in scale from the monumental to the intimate and presented at Fabrica as a sublime walk-through installation. When the Festival opens in May further works by the artist will be sited in domestic settings across the city.

Luminary starts from the artist's love of drawings produced by an 'untutored hand', and sketches by young children and older people have provided the inspiration and material for the final works. Using LED light rope the artist has transposed a selection of drawings to a larger scale, amplifying their power, originality and uninhibited style.

Haselden often chooses to work with groups – young children, prisoners and now older people – that are often the least visible in our society. Luminary offers a unique artist's vision but sheds light on the perspectives of others.

Luminary is open 9 April - 30 May. Please visit Fabrica's site for details of opening hours and further information on the exhibition.
